Viewpoint Green is a source for third-party administration of AB 811 / PACE (Property Assessed Clean Energy) type programs and is a consultant, helping municipalities research and design these types of programs and/or draft climate action/sustainability plans. If you own a house or other residential, or commercial, building you will become familiar with this law, which was passed in 2008. Essentially, AB 811 authorizes a legislative body in the state of California, such as your city or town council, to determine an area within which free and willing property owners and authorized city officials may enter into contractual assessments to finance as a line item on your property taxes the installation of energy efficiency improvements and renewable energy sources, as long as these energy upgrades are permanently affixed to that real property.

With the above, and with the implementation of the Contractual Assessments Program (CAP) Viewpoint Green offers, low interest rate loans with up to a 20-year repayment period may soon be available to property owners, who will repay them as an additional assessment on their property tax bill. These property owners are to realize a significant decrease in their energy usage and save money on their monthly utility bill(s).
